Myagmarhajid's story

Myagmarhajid Y. is 42, married and the mother of two. Her family has lived in a rented apartment for the last six years in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Both her children are attending an elementary school.

Since 2000, she has been selling women's underwear at Narantuul, the largest outdoor market in Ulaanbaatar. Once every month she goes to Ereen, a Chinese border town, to buy a variety of women's underwear to resell. Ereen is where many Mongolians go to buy a variety of goods and products to resell in Mongolia. Her husband Bat-Ochir is a taxi driver.

With their business profit, she was able to save for a down payment on a condominium. Her dream is to own a larger underwear shop.
