Leonida's story

Leonida is aged 55 and a resident of Silang, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Ruben, a security guard. Their children have their own families already. She took advantage of the cool climate in the upland area and thought of going into ornamental business.

Leonida grows garden plants like bougainvilla, golden shower, ilang-ilang, and bromelaids, and a variety of hanging plants. Her regular customers are local tourists, neighbors and the nearby community. Her earnings help meet her and her husband's daily needs and assist some of her married children that are financially hard up.

To help her expand her sales, she is requesting a loan in the amount of Php 25000 to buy fertilizer, pots, nets, various seedlings to grow a variety of ornamental plants.

Leonida trusts that God will bless the work of her hands and that she will live a good and prosperous life. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and pay Micro Finance loans.
