A loan helped to buy wholesale fabric to make uniforms and sell them wholesale.

Janette's story

Janette is a young 34-year old woman. She is single and has 2 children, ages 10 and 12. Her business is making clothing. She is always present in any situation, in the bad and the good and has the capability of showing a smile even when her heart is hurting. She carries out her business in the "Max Paredes" area, which is the cluster of informal business and dressmaking manufacturing.

Janette is the heir of Inca traits. She has the eyes of two bright stars, fine hair like silk, soft skin like cotton and velvet hands. Her nativa language is Aymará and is her greatest inheritance that she only shares with family members. She speaks Spanish for her daily life.

Her life is shared with her children as she is a single mother. Her children are in school and they live in a rented house built of adobe, which has running water, electricity and sewerage. The family is very close-knit and they have the tradition of enjoying their Sundays in the church, where they are active participants in all of the meetings for society improvement.

Her business is making clothing, such as sports wear, uniforms, sweaters and more. It is a job that she does alone without any hope, in a rented room as a shop. She does wholesale sales to schools and high schools. "I mostly dedicate myself to making uniforms and sports wear for high schools..." she says. The success of her business comes from the wholesale production. The advantage of her business is that the contracts are sure. The disadvantage is lack of rolls of fabric to work.

Her dream is that her children can get a superior education. She wants to buy rolls of fabric. This is the 1st loan sequence with the institution in the 5 years that she has been doing this work. It is for those reasons that Janette is asking for a loan to buy wholesale fabric to make uniforms and sell them wholesale.
