A loan of $600 helped to purchase fishing nets and boat for her husband’s fishing business.

Rem's story

Mrs. Rem C., 50, and her husband, Mr. Thy Ouch, 53, married in 1991 and have two children: one son and one daughter. Both are married and live outside the family home. The family lives in a small village off of National Road Number Two about fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Rem has been selling fish that her husband catches for twenty-one years and she raises cows as well. Mr. Thy Ouch has been a fisherman for twenty-one years; he fishes from the lake faraway from his house. Unfortunately, his fishing materials are old and broken down, so Rem is applying for a loan of US$ 600 to purchase new ones.
