Carlota's story

Ms Carlota is a widow. She has birthed 11 children (of which 5 have died). She travels to San Cristobal de Las Casas (a city located 2 hours from her home) to stock up on merchandise she sells (clothes, shoes, pots, bedspreads). She also sells locally-cultivated products (coffee, pork, chickens). She sells all these products to the surrounding remote communities--approachable only by walking or riding a horse through the mountains. These are very rural regions with great vegetation. Carlota is part of the Santa Catarina 3 Group.

DOÑA CARLOTA ES VIUDA, TUVO 11 HIJOS, PERO 5 DE ELLOS FALLECIERON. ELLA VIAJA A SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS (CIUDAD QUE SE LOCALIZA A DOS HORAS DE SU LOCALIDAD) PARA ABASTECERSE DE LA MERCANCIA QUE ELLA VENDE (ROPA, ZAPATOS, OLLAS, COBERTORES), TAMBIEN COMERCIALIZA PRODUCTOS QUE SE CULTIVAN EN SU LOCALIDAD (CAFÉ, ANIMALES; PUERCOS, GALLINAS). TODO ESTO LO VA A VENDER A COMUNIDADES RETIRADOS DEL LUGAR DONDE ELLA VIVE,QUE PARA LLEGAR AHI SE NECESITA CAMINAR O IR A CABALLO ATRAVES DE LAS MONTAÑAS YA QUE EL LUGAR EN DONDE VIVEN SON ZONAS RURALES CON MUCHA VEGETACION. CARLOTA FORMA PARTE DEL GRUPO DE SANTA CATARINA 3.
