A loan of $2,675 helped to buy a sewing machine and other accessories.

Lora's story

Lora C. has worked as a seamstress and owner of a tailoring shop for more than two years. She runs her business as a primary source of family income and as a way of putting into practice the knowledge she has obtained over the years.

Initially Lora lacked the capital resources needed to increase her business, and so the realization of her ambition had to be put off for some time. This situation led her husband to make a hard decision to leave his family in search of a job and better earnings abroad, a decision that thousands of other Moldovans have also reached. With the money thus earned by her husband, Lora started her business in 2007, and it has grown extensively ever since. With a loan of 30000 MDL borrowed from Microinvest for 12 months, she will buy a new sewing machine and other accessories needed for her work.
