A loan of $975 helped purchasing materials for enlarging her commercial premises.

Karina's story

Karina D. E. belongs to the “Las Innovadoras II” (“Innovative Women II”) Communal Bank. She lives on Englinton Street in Yarinacocha. She is 35 years old, has 2 children, and her husband works as an accountant.

She used her first loan of 300 soles to start her business of renting out rooms to tenants.

Thanks to her business she knows how to get ahead in life with her family. Her business has improved, so much so that she now needs to enlarge her premises.

Karina will use the current loan of 3,000 soles to invest in enlarging her premises, purchasing materials, and paying for labor.

“[Kiva partner] Manuela Ramos made it possible for me to have my own home and gave me the opportunity to increase my income by renting out rooms. All of the rooms are made of wood that comes from the region. The rooms stay cool and the tenants are comfortable.” Thank you, Manuela Ramos!
