A loan helped a member to build a clean, safe and hygienic toilet at her home.

Anusaya's Group's story

The lady standing to the left in the photograph is Anusaya. She is a married lady and lives with her husband and three children in an interior village of Jharsuguda, Odisha, India.

A victim of India's sanitation crisis, she faces numerous difficulties due to unavailability of a toilet. Absence of a toilet has compelled her to walk a long distance to relieve herself early in the morning and late in the night in sunny days, rainy nights and wintry dawns. Anusaya does not find this practice feasible and feels the risk of harmful communicable diseases and crimes.

Therefore, Anusaya and her group member are requesting a loan amount of 30,000 INR from Kiva's partner Peoples Forum. She will use her portion of the loan amount to build a clean, safe and hygienic toilet at her home so that she no more has to trek a long distance and can maintain proper health and safety and reduce unnecessary medical expenses.

Anusaya is in dire need of your generous hearts to help her and is eagerly awaiting the same with lots of hopes and aspirations.
