A loan helped to buy building materials, such as cement, bricks, paint, metal sheeting, plaster, and ceiling material.

Lady Mayerly's story

Lady is 31 years old, and small-time trader in Bogota, Colombia's capital.

Since a young age, Lady has worked at her small family business where Lady and her relatives produce bed sheets. Three years ago, Lady took the first steps to opening her own business. She now has a strong customer base made up of wholesalers from the city centre. These wholesalers pay in cash, and Lady invests profits in production.

Lady is applying for her first Kiva loan through Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the loan to carry out renovations to her business premises, and to finish building her flat. To do this, Lady needs to buy building materials, such as cement, bricks, paint, metal sheeting, plaster, and ceiling material.

Lady's dream is to have a big factory and to improve her living conditions.
