A loan of $600 helped to buy fabric.

Mavchuda's story

Mavchuda’s husband is working in Russia and sending home his earnings to support his family. To keep from sitting at home, Mavchuda sews national Tadjik blankets (called kurpachs) and, by special order, folk dresses. She has several sewing machines and, consequently, she has taken on two of the neighbor’s girls as apprentices. Every day from morning until evening Mavchuda and her apprentices sew, and then on weekends, they take their goods to the market to sell. Mavchuda is 43 years old. Now, she wants to buy some fabric for her business and therefore has applied to Kiva.
