A loan helped to buy a quality breed of dairy cow.

Rosemary's story

Hello, lenders. Meet Rosemary, a lovely, jovial, and hardworking smallholder farmer. Rosemary’s main income comes from selling crops that she grows on her small farmland. She has always had a plan to diversify into other farming activities when the stars align. Rosemary has a small personal business(motorbike business) that she does to supplement her meager income from farming.

Previously, Rosemary took out a loan that she used to buy a dairy cow. Now, Rosemary is seeking an emergency loan from Kiva lenders to buy a second dairy cow. Some of the cow's milk will be used for family consumption, but most of it will be sold, with the money going towards loan repayment. Once the loan is fully repaid, Rosemary will use the remaining money to grow her business and improve her family's living conditions.

Rosemary wants to provide for her family, improve their quality of life, and give them a more prosperous future.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens and farming equipment.
