Silvia's story

Silvia is a member of the "God is Love" Community Bank in the district of Mazo-Cruz, province of Collao, department of Puno, Peru. She is 34 years old, lives with her partner, has one son and has a high school education. She lives in the José Antonio neighborhood. She has worked with Kiva partner Manuela Ramos for the past seven years. Her first loan was for 300 soles, which allowed her to raise capital for her grocery store and purchase rice, sugar and oil. She is currently requesting a loan of 1,500 soles, which she will use to purchase soft drinks at wholesale, rice, noodles, sugar, and other items, since this time of year she has more demand by being close to the region's patron saint festival. Her dream is to set up a faucet for her store. She adds that she enjoys the training she receiver from Manuela Ramos.
