A loan of $650 helped to invest in new products.

Maria's story

María is 43 years old. Since she separated from her partner, she has forged ahead as a single mother of four children, who are her greatest treasure and for whom she struggles to provide a roof over their heads.

Since she was very young she has worked at selling a variety of products, which has allowed her to establish her own business where she and her sister work. Together, they purchased a spot in the local market three years ago. During all this time, she has striven to provide the best attention and superior products to her clients. Every day, she gets up at dawn to prepare diverse condiments to sell. It is very labor-intensive, but with the support of her sister, the work is not so bad. In the future, they both hope to expand their product selection so that their business continues to grow, and to become very well-known within the market.

They have been a part of Microfinanzas PRISMA for five years, and this will be their eighth loan. They are very happy with their loan group because all the members support one other and encourage each other in difficult times. In addition, the group is known for always fulfilling their responsibilities.

María will use the 2000 soles of credit to invest in the purchase of merchandise to stock and diversify her business with new products.
