A loan of $650 helped to purchase another stand in the market.

Francisca's story

Francisca is a mother who works for the well-being of her children. Since she separated from her husband, she has had to take on the role of both father and mother in her home, which is very difficult. But she has the support of her parents, who offered her their home and their affection. With all of the problems she had to go through, she never stopped being an optimist with regard to her future. She had all of the strength necessary to work in many jobs to pay for her home's expenses and saved enough to have her own business with her sister. Now they are planning to obtain another stand in the market. However, to accomplish this, they will have to keep selling starting at 6:00 a.m. Mothers start visiting the markets very early so they can have the afternoons free to attend to the needs of their homes. She never stops caring for her children in spite of the hard work she does during the day. This is her eighth loan with Microfinanzas Prisma. It helps her to know that her responsibility within her group isn't only making her payments, but also the friendship and solidarity that the members have. It isn't easy to interact and to learn how to work in a team. The amount she is requesting will go towards acquiring another stand in the market and to increase her amount of products and capital.
