A loan helped to buy nets in order to continue working as some of his current ones are in a poor condition.

Edwin Rafael's story

Edwin is 26 years old and lives in his own home with his wife and young son. His wife looks after the home while his young boy is not yet old enough to attend school.

Edwin has worked in traditional fishing, in which his whole family earns a living, since he was a young boy when he went out to sea to fish with his father. Edwin goes fishing in the early hours of the morning from Monday to Saturday and this provides his income.

He needs this loan to buy fishing nets in order to continue working as some of his current ones are in a poor condition and they’re a vital tool for the job.

His dream is to have better his fishing equipment, see his child grow-up and be able to teach him the values of being a polite, humble and respectful person.
