A loan of $650 helped buy clothing.

Darly's story

Darly B. R. D. C. belongs to the “Las Dalilas” community bank. She lives at Jr. El Pescador Mz. 116 Lt.11 in the Yarinacocha district. She is 36, and she has 2 minor children. Her husband is a professor at an educational institution.

Two years ago she started raising chickens. She received her first loan from Manuela Ramos for 300 PEN, which financed her raising chickens. She was able to grow the business until she had a thousand chickens. Unfortunately, in 2008 there was not much demand. She had to close her business.

Then, she bought a special sewing machine and started selling clothes. With this loan for 2,000 PEN she will buy new clothes for children, women, and men. Thanks to the trainings offered by Manuela Ramos, she is sure that she will keep progressing. She says, “Even though at the beginning it was difficult to join the group, since I have been in Las Dalilas I feel very good. I have always come out ahead, and now, with the help they offer me, everything is much better.”
