Diana's story

Diana O. is a 34 year-old local restaurant operator. She is married and blessed with four children. Two of her children are in school and the others are working. Diana is very supportive of her family and committed to the service of her maker. In her restaurant she prepares and sells local foods like "fufu" and "banku." Fufu is prepared from pounded cassava and plantain, and taken with all kinds of soup. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and is taken with hot pepper or soup.Diana has been in business for the past 7 years. Diana says that the prices of raw materials have gone up significantly and she needs the support of a loan to enable her meet her production expenditures. She wants to use the loan to buy more raw materials, like bags of maize, baskets of cassava, plantain, meat, fish, vegetables, and firewood. Diana belongs to a village bank called ‘Bisa Nyame’ which literally means "Ask God".
