A loan of $350 helped to buy more fish and khanga to sell.

Mauwa's story

Mauwa has been a fish and khanga (a brightly colored piece of cloth that many East African women wear) seller in the Melinne neighborhood of Zanzibar for three years. She belongs to Hakika group loan (Group code 2029). She currently earns an average monthly profit of $70. She works at her business for 8 hours every day.

Mauwa is requesting her first loan from BRAC Tanzania so that she can buy more fish to improve her business. She is hoping that, through this loan, her profit will increase and she will be able to grow her business.
