Robert's story

Robert A. is 45 years old. He is married and the father of five children: four sons and one daughter. The last born is currently in the senior high school. The rest have all completed school and are working. His wife trades in infant layettes. Robert lives with the family in a rented apartment in a town called Achiase. Achiase is a busy farming and trading community in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is an auto electrician by profession. He mends electrical problems in clients’ vehicles. He says he also charges their vehicles’ batteries. Robert has a shop at the lorry station in his community. He also has some apprentices who are in training. He has been in business for over eighteen years. He wants a loan to buy more car batteries.
