A loan helped to buy more poultry and the feed for them.

Gloria Isabel's story

Gloria went to school through the ninth grade. She didn't continue because she entered into a relationship with the father of her two year old son. The gentleman grows basic grains and also works as a day-laborer. Her family group consists of her son and her life partner, who both appear in the photograph.

Gloria raises chickens to fatten at her home. She sells them in the region, and has been doing this for close to two years. She learned about it through a program in her community which helped her. Before doing this she was involved solely in homemaking.

She gets up at five in the morning to feed the birds, and she watches over them throughout the day. Her work is done at about six in the evening.

Gloria will use this loan to buy more poultry and the feed for them. With this she hopes to increase the number of birds so that when she sells them, she will have more income.

Gloria's dream has been to be able to see her son as a professional, considering that she was unable to continue improving herself. She wants to build a bigger home because where they are currently living is very small and is not her own.
