Ascencia's story

Ascencia C. P. is a member of the Communal Bank "Women Working for Development ," of the Cabanilla district, in the Lampa province, department of Puno. She is 50 years old, married, and has 7 children. Her education is incomplete, having only completed first grade.

She’s been working with the Manuela Ramos Movement for only a few years. Her business is a bakery, where she sells loaves of bread. She is requesting a new loan of 500 soles ($175), and she plans to pay it in 6 installments. With this loan she will be able to acquire supplies and materials to continue baking loaves of bread to distribute to the stores in her zone. Her greatest desire is to keep expanding her business and to see her children become professionals.
