Adela's story

Adela is an associate of the comunal bank "Mujeres Trabajando por el Desarrollo" (Women working for Development), of the district Cabanilla, in the Lamp Provence, in the State of Puno. She is a 42 year old single mother, has 8 chldren, and studied up until the second level of secondary school. Adela has worked with Movimento Maunela Ramos for 3 years. She buys and sells small livestock. Her first loan was of 300 new soles, which she invested in buying sheep to fatten them and sell in the fair of Cbanillas. Sometimes she sells it in the form of meat in the city of Arequipa. Now she is asking for a new loan of 3000 new soles, that she thinks she iwll invest in capital and more livestock. This loan will be paid in 6 quotas. Adela is happy that she belongs to Movimiento Manuela Ramos and is grateful that she can confide in them. Adela wishes to continue improving her business so that she can provide education to her younger children.
