Mrs. Joan L., 23 years old, is married and lives at Villaflor, Oroquieta City. Her source of income comes from her sand and gravel business. Her husband is very supportive of her; in fact, he’s the one who oversees the business from time to time. The couple desires to have a baby someday.

The business started when Joan became a member of Paglaum Multi-purpose Cooperative in September 2005. She thought that this business would be ideal for them because they are near the river bank. Financial Assistance was provided by the cooperative. She has obtained loans several times already.

Today, Joan applies for PHP 20,000 to pay the daily wages of the workers. In the future, the couple dreams of becoming the supplier of sand and gravel to a big construction company.
