La's Group's story

Living in Kratie province, La, aged 28 years old, is a mother of two dependent children, one of whom is too young to attend school and another one is in school. She has been planting cassava for two hectares area of farmland as a main source of her income. She works as a paid worker to earn additional income to support her entire family as well.

She has been involved in this business around 8 years and it has paid her back about 9 USD per day. Her cassava farming did not produce a good yield last year so as she can’t sell it with a good price.

Due to lack of capital for supporting her cassava planting, she decided to request a loan from VisionFund. This is her second loan cycle and she paid back her past loan successfully. Now she is leading the group which has seven members to apply for a new loan. She hopes to earn more income to upgrade her standard of living.
