Mrs. Asunción del Pilar A. D. A. is 48 years old, lives in the district of Salaverry, province of Trujillo, department of La Libertad, Perú. She completed her second year of high school, but had to leave school because her parents did not have the economic means to continue supporting her. She has three children, one of whom is still financially dependent on her.

Asunción is a seamstress and has a small store. She began her business with the sale of kerosene (combustible) and vegetables, which she left to care for her small daughter; later she began her work as a seamstress. With time she has begun to sell groceries and beauty products. She also sells footwear and seasonal cheeses. She conducts her business from her home.

With the loan of 1200 soles, which will be repaid in 6 months, she will buy consumable products for food production in order to increase her working capital. Asunción dreams of having a big store and of buying herself a car. She belongs to the club of mothers in her area.
