Enhjargal's story

Enhjargal P. lives with his wife and a teenage daughter in the Chingeltay district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. His daughter is a student in a local secondary school. Enhjargal has a small business making shoes. He makes winter shoes for adults and children, and all his shoes are sewed manually.

He launched his shoe business in 2000, and since then the business has expanded as the demand for his shoes has steadily increased. Following the increased demand, Enhjargal rented a larger work space and hired his two sisters. They make on average 100 shoes in a month.

In the future, he would like to own an automatic machine to make the shoe-making process faster and more labor efficient. He requests a loan to purchase raw materials, such as leather and insulation materials.
