A loan of $400 helped to buy construction materials for building a room.

Manuela Isabel's story

Ms. Manuela is a fighter who has stood out in tortilla sales. Bright and early she rises to begin grinding corn, since at night she leaves it to cook. She then starts her day like every other, making her hot and tasty tortillas that she sells to be consumed by Nicaraguans; tortillas are a large part of the diet. She's 39 years old, residing in the Enrique Bermúdez neighborhood. She has two kids, ages 9 and 14, that are in grade school. Her husband is supervisor of security services. She started selling tortillas with her own money to help her husband cover the daily costs. With this loan she wants to buy construction materials to build a room to have better living conditions for her family. Her plans are to be able to continue offering her products to other customers to increase her sales.
