A loan helped a member to buy two cows and one sheep.

Khoudia's Group's story

This three-member group is part of the banc villageois that was established in October 2007. Good social cohesion drives the group's meetings and they are very united. They work mainly in fattening and trade.

Khoudia, standing on the right with her left hand raised in the photo, is the star borrower. She is married, 46 years old, and the mother of three children, including one boy and two girls. She has been in the fattening business for years and has a lot of experience in this field.

With the loan, she plans to continue her fattening business by buying two cows for 125,000 CFA francs each, and one sheep for 60,000 CFA francs. She also plans to buy animal feed for an amount of 50,000 CFA francs. She fattens the animals and resells them after five months--the cows for 225,000 CFA francs and the sheep for 100,000 CFA francs.

With the income, she plans to finish the construction of rooms at her home that she has already started, and also meet her personal needs (housing, etc.).

In this group: Khoudia, Aissatou, Fatou
