Dulmaa's story

Dulmaa D. is 38, married and the mother of three. Dulmaa's family lives in a "ger" (a nomadic Mongolian housing tent) district in Arhanghay, one of Mongolia's central provinces. Her youngest two sons attend elementary and high school.

Since 2002, together with her husband, Bat-Ochir, she has been running a clothing stall at the local market. She is a hard-working woman who tries her best to make a better life for her children. From her profit, she has bought electronic goods for her home and plans to buy a car soon. When she began her retail business, her working capital was 500,000 tugrugs and now as a result of hard work, it has increased to 2,000,000 tugrugs ($1.00 USD = 1,450 MNT).

She requests a loan to buy more men's and women's apparel to increase her business inventory.
