A loan of $625 helped a member to buy more clothes and shoes for business.

Mapatano Group's story

Khadija has been a clothes and shoes seller in the Mikunguni neighborhood of Zanzibar for three years. She currently earns an average monthly profit of $95. She works at her business for eight hours every day.

She is requesting her second loan from BRAC Tanzania so that she can buy more clothes and shoes for her business. She is hoping that through this loan her profit will increase and she will be able to pay school fees for her children and save money for future use.

Khadija is 35-years-old, married and has two children: ages 14 and 11. She also cares for two additional dependants. She will be sharing this loan with her fellow group member, Shemsa, who also has her own small business in Zanzibar.

In this group: Khadija, Shemsa
