A loan of $325 helped to buy rice and pig feed and the clearing and hoeing of farm food crops for market.

Bih Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is married with seven children and lives in Ntamulung, Bamenda, in Cameroon. Elizabeth runs a small "buy and sell" provision store in her compound at Ntamulung. With this loan, she plans to buy five bags of rice, three bags of pig feed, and the clearing and hoeing of farm food crops for market. Her business plan shows she will invest 50,000 CFA (approximately $100 USD) of her own savings as well.

This will be Elizabeth's second loan from GHAPE. She has been quite successful in the past with her “buy and sell” business due to her location in the quarter and her reasonable prices. She purchases most of her products where they are much cheaper in bulk, and retails them at her store. She has a strong customer base and is confident that she will be able to increase her sales.

With the profits from this loan, Elizabeth plans to send her children to school and support them after school. She will also consider buying more piglets for her pig farm. Her profits will also provide her with the security of knowing she can afford hospital bills and health costs.
