A loan of $650 helped to buy provisions for sale.

Hagar's story

Hagar K. is 37 and married with four children who are still in school. Some are in junior high and others in the basic school. She lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in a fishing community called Aquase, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.

Hagar says it is necessary for her to work to make some income to help her husband to support the family. Though a hairdresser by profession, Hagar trades in provisions as well.

She buys provisions such as milk, sugar, candies, bread, etc. from wholesale dealers in the regional capital, Cape Coast, and sells on a table top in front of her salon. Hagar also sells fresh fish and chicken.

She has been in business for seven years and wants a loan to procure more goods to stock her shop.
