A loan of $975 helped the purchase of materials and utensils for her restaurant.

Dora's story

Mrs. Dora, at 65 years of age, is widowed and together with her children and grandchildren was able to overcome this painful loss, finding in them the strength necessary to continue working. In spite of the nostalgia, she tries to take refuge in work and together with her oldest grandson she is setting up a restaurant in her home since it is located in a place with good traffic which will make for a prosperous business. As a test, she at first installed a small food stand in the door of her house which she attends every evening from 6pm until midnight and thanks to her good flavors the people are coming frequently to the food stand. This encouraged her grandson to put into motion plans for a business together with her. Now they are about to open their restaurant where people will have the possibility to visit Doña Dora in her new premises, which are in the same place, but now customers will be able to calmly eat their favorite dishes all day in a more comfortable setting.

Dora is a founding member of her group in MFP, and for six years they have shared good times together, and her teamwork has been improving with time. They have had diverse economic difficulties and have obtained valuable experience from them. The 3000 PEN that she is now asking for is designated to the purchase of materials and utensils necessary for the prompt start up of her restaurant.
