Ninfa Juana's story

Mrs. Ninfa Juana belongs to the “Mujeres en Acción” community bank. She lives in the Jr. 20 de mayo – Carretera Fernando B. Terry, in the San José de Sisa district, of the departament of San Martín. She is 43, married and has 3 children. Two of the children are still dependent upon her.

She started with her first loan of 300 PEN, and with her own initiative she started her grocery business. She still has the same grocery store, located in her own house, where her main customers are community residents, neighbors, and friends.

With a loan of 2,000 PEN, which she will repay in 6 months, she will buy more products to stock her business. She will buy items like rice, bags of sugar, packages of milk, oil, personal hygiene supplies, house cleaning supplies, packs of soft drinks, and various other products to keep her customers happy.

She is the one who makes decisions about the income from her business. Personally, she feels more independent, secure, and responsible about making her payments.

Ninfa Juana is grateful to Manuela Ramos for allowing her to grow as a businesswoman and as a woman.
