A loan helped a member to buy fresh and seasonal vegetables for her husband's green grocery business.

Zahida's Group's story

Zahida is a 46-year-old married woman, living in Lahore, Pakistan.

She requested for a loan for her husband’s green grocery business. Her husband has been selling vegetables for many years along with his son. He sells seasonal fresh vegetables in his hometown. He has been using a four-wheel manual cart to carry the vegetables from one place to another. Now he has opened a shop for selling vegetables, but he does not have enough cash in hand to buy initial inventories to run his shop in a good manner.

His children are growing and their needs are increasing. To cope with the rapid increase in school fees, books, utility bills and household expenses, he wants to establish his business but he does not have enough savings to buy vegetables in bulk.

Therefore, Zahida has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband can buy fresh and seasonal vegetables to sell.
