Tunas Baru Group's story

Tunas Baru group is composed of 5 women and chaired by Arni, (in the middle) a 31-year-old woman. Arni is married to Kosmas, a 37-year-old man who worked as an employee. They are blessed with 4 children; their ages are between 3 to 11 years old and three go to school.

Arni has been running a kiosk business for 8 years. With this business Arni can support her husband particularly in managing their living needs. As a mother, Arni also cares to her children’s education. She hopes to save some money for their education in the future.

She has planned to improve her business. She thinks that if more products are sold that she can generate more income so that she can save some money for her children. Moreover there are demands from the customers for currently incomplete items such as rice, noodles, sugar, kerosene, and wheat. Therefore, along with 4 women Arni formed the Tunas Baru group and requested a loan totaling IDR 10,000,000 from Kiva through TLM. She is thankful for Kiva who always focuses on the small entrepreneurs in the world. She believes the loan will be beneficial for her business in the future.
