A loan helped to pay for mangoes, oranges, lanzones, grapes, cabbage, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc., to sell at her fruit/vegetable stand.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda is indeed grateful for Kiva's and CCT's (Center for Community Transformation) continued moral and financial support. They have greatly helped her to persevere in life. The proceeds of her loans have really sustained her fruits/vegetables business.

Once again she needs funds in the amount of PHP 50,000 to pay for a variety of fruits and vegetables to sell on a retail basis. Although there are days that her sales are slow, she maintains her cheerful and positive outlook that as sure as the sun rises every morning, her sales will also pick up in time.

Yolanda hopes to have her own fruit/vegetable stall at their town market someday. She trusts that with her hard work she will harvest the fruits of her labor and have an abundant life. She faithfully meets every week with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work and draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and repay microfinance loans.
