A loan helped to buy supplies for making coconut wine like tungog (as it gives tuba its bitter taste and maroon color) and containers for wine storage.

Paulina's story

Paulina is a 33-year-old married woman from Dulag, Leyte. She engages in making and selling tuba (coconut) wine. She has been in the food-vending business for 11 years. She has five children. Her oldest child is 11, and the youngest is 5. Her husband is a carpenter.

Paulina has requested a loan of 20,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) to buy supplies for making coconut wine like tungog (as it gives tuba its bitter taste and maroon color) and containers for wine storage. This will help Paulina make and sell more coconut wine and distribute it to the locals in the community. This will also create higher earnings.

Paulina is hoping that, with the capital she has requested, she will be productive in operating her business in a way that will help improve their way of living and also finance the education of her children.
