A loan helped a member purchase of condiments, rice, shoes, and firewood.

Sinignèsigui Group's story

The members of the Sinignèsigui group ( 7 women: 6 married and 1 single) live in polygamous families with, on average, 5 children and an average age of 42, in the village of Bougoula Hameau, situated 3 km from the town of Sikasso (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

They retail various small items, notably condiments, firewood, shoes, and cereals. Trusting each other and hoping to better satisfy their ever-growing clientele, they decided to join the credit program of Soro Yiriwaso, with whom they are on their second group loan (solidarity loan). The previous loan was correctly reimbursed.

With this second loan, they intend to buy 10 sacks of tomatoes, 10 sacks of hot peppers, 10 sacks of onions, 10 sacks of eggplant, 10 packets of Maggi, 10 boxes of tomato concentrate, etc. The merchandise is bought in the big open-air market of Sikasso and sold, for cash or credit, in the neighborhood market and out of their homes, to a local clientele consisting of women.

They expect to substantially increase their profit, each of them making an average profit of 10,000 F CFA per month which will be used to make repayments on the loan and cover family expenses, with the remainder invested back into their respective businesses.
