Makarimal Akhlakh Yoff 33 Group's story

The "33" group is a remnant of an economic interest group named Makarimal Akhlakh. It comprises ten women who live in the same town and who have the same businesses: selling fresh fish. The women know one another through weekly excursions they take turns organizing. Their representative is the person in the photo with her hand raised. Her name is Fatou. She is a married woman and has been operating her business selling fish for over ten years.

Fatou joined a U-IMCEC branch where she is requesting a loan to bolster her working capital. She would like to increase the goods she offers to satisfy customer demands, which she cannot meet with her own funds. The new loan will enable her to boost her sales and to earn more money. The profits will enable her to improve her family's food situation and to raise her savings level. One day, she would like to become a major wholesaler of fish.

In this group: Fatou, Rouguiyatou, Ndeye Amy, Mariama Binta, Fama, Awa Sy, Sabo, Ndeye Sokhna, Gagna, Ndeye Maguette
