A loan helped to buy ingredients such as salt and potatoes and kitchen utensils, to use at her kebab-vending cart.

Raquel's story

Raquel belongs to the “Mujeres Rumbo al Triunfo II” (Women Headed for Triumph II) Communal Bank in the District of Tarapoto, Province and Department of San Martin. She is 30 years old, lives with her partner, and has no children. Raquel is a very active woman who works mornings in an enterprise that makes yoghurt, then works evenings in her own business making kebabs. Her husband helped her buy a kebab cart, and little by little her sales grew, as she gained customers, including her relatives, neighbors, and transient people. She counts on the help of her mother and by means of both activities, she has improved her quality of life.

With this loan of 2,000 new sols, Raquel will buy products and ingredients such as potatoes by the sack, oil by the gallon, packets of salt, chicken, vegetables, condiments; and utensils for the kitchen, pails, and hundreds of disposable bottles she will use in her business.

Raquel is a hard-working and enterprising woman. Her dream is to have a business in her own home selling her products and, in addition, dedicating herself to other businesses to improve economically. She is very grateful to the Movimiento (Movement) Manuela Ramos for offering this opportunity to receive a loan and thus, to be able to realize her dreams.
