A loan helped a member to purchase stocks of seasonal vegetables in order to expand a vegetable business.

Anisha's Group's story

Anisha is a 44-year-old married woman living in a little village in MADHUPUR, DEOGHAR, Jharkhand. She lives in a household of 4 members including her 2 daughters who study in a nearby school in her locality. She runs a vegetable stall at the local market. She sells seasonal vegetables from across the country at her stall. She manages to bring in a monthly household income of INR 19,400.

She is a hardworking woman who wants to expand her business and increase her monthly household income. Anisha and her group of women realize what the benefits of a greater monthly household income may bring and are determined to expand their respective businesses. The benefits will not only help their immediate family members but also reach out to their community as well.

However, Anisha’s monthly household income is barely enough to meet the needs of her own family. Therefore, she and her group have applied for a total loan of INR 805,000 from Grameen Shakti, one of Milaap's field partners. She will use the loan to purchase large stocks of seasonal vegetables that are in great demand at the market. She will sell these to her customers for a profit.

Anisha and her group of women, along with their families, will be grateful for your kind support.
