A loan helped a member to purchase stocks of salted fish that will strengthen her initial capital.

Zamiri Group's story

Elizabeth is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and the head of the village group “Zamiri”. She is married, 38 years old and the mother of 6 children who all attend school. Her partner is unemployed.

She sells fish and started this business 20 years ago with the startup funds received from her husband. Later she joined the Hekima program to support her business and during this time she evolved progressively. With this new loan, she will purchase stocks of salted fish, that will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge facing her activity is linked to the lack of customers.

She would like her children to continue their studies and wishes to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they bring to business owners who have no cash in this context of crisis linked to covid-19. The photo is only of the group leader because of covid-19 and to respect the social distancing rules.
