A loan helped a woman owned minority business acquire the tools necessary to grow our small business.

Tresia's story

I have been cooking almost all of my life. My mother wasn't the best cook and never enjoyed it. By the age of 12, I was cooking dinner for my younger brothers and ALL of the big holiday meals. As a matter of fact, I don't remember my mother setting food into the kitchen ever again lol. During my administrative career (because my mother told me that as long as you know how to type, you will always have a job), I began catering for events on the weekends. After my last supervisor position ended, I finally made my dream come true and was able to attend culinary school. Since graduating, I have worked in both restaurant and corporate kitchens. In 2018 I left my position at The World Trade Center to work on opening my own restaurant ... and then the pandemic happened.

Food is more than just eating. Food is memories, comfort, and a universal connector. One of my favorite quotes is "food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate". My passion is food and feeding people well with my delicious, homemade meals.
