Growing up I was orphaned at an early age. As an orphan, you learn how to be strong and fight. When hard situations arise you fight your way out of them. It's this tenacity that helped me to stay afloat as a business owner in a pandemic. When Covid-19 hit, our business suffered. Many of our regular clients stop coming. We had to fight to stay afloat. Thankfully, staying afloat is what we did, but other things were neglected. We were not able to update anything and many of our things need to be updated or replaced. We are in desperate need of new furniture and equipment.
Nails and Brow place is not only a business but we are an entrepreneurial hub where up-and-coming nail artist build out their business as well. With your help, we can extend our apprenticeship program and other programs that we have that support our community.
Today we are currently running a monthly apprenticeship program in addition to providing top-notch services to our clientele. In order to continue that program and provide an updated space for them to train; we are in need of funding.

Nails and Brow place is not only a business but we are an entrepreneurial hub where other entrepreneurs are supported as well. We are located in the heart of Macomb County Michigan. We started Nails and Brow Place because we saw a need to have a creative place for new nail technicians to work and service their clients. In addition to that, we also wanted to create a place where nail technicians could obtain their certification.
What is the purpose of this loan?
We are applying for this loan so that we can update our furniture and equipment. The pandemic left us with little to no working capital. Our business will be greatly impacted by this loan. We will be able to buy the much need things to update the salon in addition to updating our sign out front. Once people can see our sign out front we will have more foot traffic and be able to increase our sales.

What does "Partner covers currency loss" mean & how could it affect my Kiva loans?
When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
