Nikki's story

I’m a Seattle native, born and raised in Emerald City. As a lifelong plus-sized (aka “fluffy”) Queen, I have always promoted self-acceptance and self-love in all things that are body positivity. Nevertheless, I’ve dealt with my fair share of challenges as a plus-sized woman personally and professionally. Throughout my childhood and adulthood confidence and self-love have never been an issue for me, but I constantly watched young women succumb to society’s unrealistic depiction of what “beauty” is. One’s size does not negate the respect and love all humans deserve. Fat, fluffy, obese are descriptors, not who a person is or should be judged upon.

While navigating in a fatphobic world, it was painfully apparent that we fluffy folks are extremely overlooked in society—especially in retail and self-care. The climate in the world today is quite stressful and we all need to be reminded of self-care, self-acceptance, and self-love. This inspired me to begin creating products with a focus on fluffy, which became an entire line of bath and body products using dessert and food shapes. It is quickly expanding to other fun self-care items like candles and bath kits.

Last year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that was neglected due to fatphobic medical discrimination I suddenly found myself with a renewed focus on whatever future I wanted to have vs. the one I’d assumed I was destined for. A newfound determination to become self-made while bringing joy and representation for fluffy folks took over. Now I’m well on my way to realizing such a dream and uplifting others along the way.
