A loan helped to buy a number of pigs and animal feed for the full breeding cycle.

María Berverita's story

Maria is 55 years old and lives with her children in the parish of Pablo Arenas, which is located in the north of Ecuador.

Maria makes a living in agriculture. She works as a day laborer on local land, and in selling natural products. Maria works every day from 6am until 5pm, and at night she sells her natural remedies.

Conscious of the needs of her household, Maria decided to make a living selling corral animals like chickens and pigs, which she sells alive or by the pound.

Maria is requesting a loan in order to increase the number of animals that she is raising. She wishes to buy a number of pigs and animal feed for the full breeding cycle.

Maria is very grateful to Kiva for the help with the loan, since the raising of animals is the means by which she can get ahead with her children. Her biggest wish is for her children to finish their studies.
