About 6 Years into my career my father an I developed a Haircare product line. Which started out well but was short lived due to irreconcilable differences. In 2011 I worked as an educator for a very popular hair product line--for 5 years I taught stylists & consumers about the importance of healthy Haircare and what products to use to achieve it. But much to my surprise, my desire and passion to have my own line again was growing day by day. Every day at my salon while servicing my clients I would be frustrated with some of the different products I was using . I had made up in my mind that I was going to create what was missing, even if I had to do it out of my own pocket. So I stepped out on faith with no partner or investors and created my Healthy Haircare Products on my own dime. This dream has come with many ups and downs. The past 4 years have been a true blessing yet came with many trials and tribulations. The first year & a half I started out with 10 products. They did well every one loved the quality and consistency of products. My packaging was great, but it could have been better. I also was working on a few other key products needed in the line. So I made the decision while the line was still in the new phase to redesigned the bottles, an added 8 more products. But then I ran low on money and struggled to produce enough inventory. So I worked, sacrificed and relaunched last year with a new name and new package design to create 18 products in total. I’m so proud that I never gave up. Women & men love Restoration Collection's Healthy Haircare Products. They love how healthy their hair has become since using my products--some even have a fit when I run out of it! My future plans will be to add Haircare Products for a men’s line & a children’s line.

Having this loan will truly help me with the volume I need to keep up with the supply and demand for my products. Every loan has only 30 days to fundraise on Kiva. There are 2 different options for how that funding is sent to the field:
Fixed: the total loan amount must be raised in order for funds to be sent to the Lending Partner. If the loan is not funded in full within the fundraising period, the loan will expire and any funds raised will be returned to lenders' Kiva accounts.
Flexible: any funds raised within 30 days will be passed along to the Lending Partner facilitating the loan and they will come up with other sources of funding to cover the rest of the loan amount.
What does "Partner covers currency loss" mean & how could it affect my Kiva loans?
When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
"No" means that the Lending Partner is not covering any currency losses and all losses will be passed onto lenders.
