A loan helped .

Kimberly's story

I was a little spoiled as a child, born in Germany (army brat) and raised here in Baltimore which is the birthplace of my parents. My childhood started off with everything I needed, my parents owned a home in a great neighborhood and I was 1 of 5 siblings, there was never a dull moment. Shortly after my 10th birthday, my parents lost our home and we began to move around a bit before settling in Southwest Baltimore. Financial stability played a huge part of how our lifestyle changed, going from a 4 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom, was a big disruptions to our way of life, but we adjusted the best we knew how. As I grew up I decided that I would be an entrepreneur, instead of working for someone else. I didn’t want to give anyone to power to decide what I can do or be able to cap my potential. Today I am a wife, mother, and successful entrepreneur, and I do not take my ability to produce income for myself for granted. I hope to make my mark on the beauty industry and leave a legacy for my children. In the future, I plan to have multiple successful salons, a fleet of mobile salons, and become the top commercial real estate broker in Maryland.

At a young age I found myself providing hair services for family, friends, neighbors, and myself. I started out practicing on family and charging next to nothing and that allowed me to elevate my skills before even stepping g foot in a school. I was very influence by my mother who would give clients the latest styles from home and make a profit. I thought that it was genius, and I believe that’s where it started.
