A loan helped buy tables, chairs, a coffee pot, and counter, etc.

Anita Del Carmen's story

The city of Azogues is the capital of the Cañar province. It is located in the Hoya del Río Paute. Because of its geographical location it enjoys a mild climate. Also, we can enjoy the beauty of Franciscan Sanctuary. It maintains its colonial architecture, making it a beautiful city. The people are friendly and likeable, and they welcome national and foreign tourists. They are also characterized as being fighters. They are steadfast about getting ahead and always giving the best to their families, just like our members.

Anita H. has been a member of the Barrio Nuevo Communal Bank for three cycles. She was motivated by her friend who told her about the loans and the benefits offered by the ESPOIR Foundation. She has used the loans she has received to buy materials to make handicrafts like stuffed animals, fabric paintings, decorations, and embroidery, etc. She has taken courses to learn, and she also has a talent for it.

Anita, 30, lives in the Barrio Nuevo community with her three children; 8, 7, and 5. Her husband moved abroad to give them a better future. With the money from the loan she has requested she will buy tables, chairs, a coffeepot, and counter to establish her café and make her dream a reality. Her goal is to get ahead in her business.
